The WEST route is geographically easier than the Aso day. Its only real decision is the finale: decide whether you want Jinbe in full daylight, at sunset, or beside the exposed undersea road, then work backward through the other four stops.

Do not let a famous restaurant decide the whole schedule. Eat in the city for maximum choice, stop around Mashiki or Mifune for a calm midday break, or save the memorable meal for the Uto coast.

Questions that change the day

Can I see all five WEST statues in one day?

Yes. The official tourism route estimates roughly three hours of driving, but a satisfying visit needs a full day once photography, meals, parking and the Uto coast are included.

Can I do the WEST route without a car?

Luffy and Chopper are reachable by tram, while the later stops become much slower by public transport. A rental car or private driver is the practical choice for all five in one day.

Must Jinbe be the final stop?

No. Jinbe is the emotional finale, but tide, sunset and weather matter more than narrative order. Reverse the route when the coast has the day’s best viewing window.

Do I need to enter the zoo to see Chopper?

The official route information describes the statue near the west-gate entrance and lists statue viewing as free. Check current zoo notices if you plan to visit the animals as well.
