Once you know which circles you want to visit at Comic Market 108, the next challenge is finding them inside Tokyo Big Sight. A general venue map can get you to East Hall 1 or West Hall 2, but it cannot identify an individual circle. For that, you need the circle’s complete location, the correct C108 circle-space map, and a basic understanding of a code such as イ01a or て05b.
This guide focuses on reading those codes and navigating to circle spaces. It does not repeat ticket procedures, train routes, packing advice, or general Comiket rules.
The Short Answer
For every circle, save the attendance day, hall, block character, number, a or b suffix, and circle name. A complete note should look like this:
| Attendance day | Hall | Block | Number | Side |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | East Hall 1 | イ | 01 | a |
Use the C108 Information Map to reach the correct building and hall. Then use the relevant circle-space map to find the block and numbered space inside that hall.
Save the Complete Location
The official Comike WebCatalog provides placement information for participating circles. Its official circle-detail-page guide explains that a circle’s detail page shows its placement space and includes a MAP link to its location on the venue map.
The official C108 beginner guide describes a complete location in this order:
Attendance date + area + hall + block character + number + a or b
For example: Day 1 / East Hall 1 / イ01a.
Also save the circle name. Do not translate or romanize a Japanese block character. Keeping イ as イ is safer than rewriting it as “i,” which could be confused with the lowercase block i in the South Halls.
If you have not chosen the correct attendance date, use the C108 Day 1 vs. Day 2 guide first. Day 1 and Day 2 have different participating circles.
Use the Right Map
C108 Information Map
Use the official C108 Information Map to understand the venue as a whole. It shows the East, West, and South exhibition areas, hall locations, connecting routes, information points, first aid, restrooms, and entrances.
It answers: Which building and hall do I need? It does not show the location of every circle space.
Official C108 Circle-Space Maps
The official C108 circle-space map page provides four sheets:
These maps show the block characters, numbers, aisles, and selected hall facilities. Choose the sheet for the hall in your note, then match it with the placement saved from the WebCatalog.
Comike WebCatalog Map
The official WebCatalog venue-map guide explains that its map changes by day and lets you open a circle’s details from its position. Check the selected day before relying on the map.
Use the WebCatalog while planning, then keep a short circle list and the relevant official PDF ready for the event. For offline preparation and phone-battery planning, see What to Bring to Comic Market 108.
How a Circle-Space Code Works
The C108 version of the official Comiket beginner guide confirms that a placement combines the date, area, hall, block, number, and an a or b suffix.
| Part | Example | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|
| Attendance day | Day 1 | Which day’s circle placement to use |
| Hall | East Hall 1 | Which hall contains the space |
| Block | イ | The group of numbered spaces to find first |
| Number | 01 | The numbered position within that block |
| Suffix | a | Which of the two spaces sharing that number |
Numbers repeat in different blocks, so イ01 and ウ01 are different locations. The final a or b is part of the placement code; do not drop it.
Do not rely on left and right alone. Confirm the complete placement code in the WebCatalog, including the final a or b.
C108 Block Characters by Hall
The four official C108 circle-space maps use different character systems:
| Circle area | Block style | Blocks shown on the C108 map |
|---|---|---|
| East Halls 1-3 | Katakana |
| East Hall 7 | Uppercase English | A-W |
| West Halls 1-2 | Hiragana | あ, い, う, え, お, か, き, く, け, こ, さ, し, す, せ, そ, た, ち, つ, て, と, な, に, ぬ, ね, の, は, ひ, ふ, へ, ほ, ま, み, む, め |
| South Halls 1-2 | Lowercase English | a-t |
Watch for four easy mix-ups:
- イ is katakana, not the English letter i.
- い is hiragana, not イ.
- East Hall 7 block A and South Halls block a are different.
- In h18a, h is the block and the final a is the suffix.
Always save the hall with the code. This assignment is specific to C108, so do not use a map from an older Comiket.
Find a Circle in Five Steps
1. Confirm the Day
Check Day 1 or Day 2 before following a saved location. The official C108 information for international participants states that the genres and circles change each day.
2. Reach the Correct Hall
Use the Information Map and current staff directions to reach the hall in your note. Confirm the large hall sign before studying the smaller placement code.
3. Find the Block
Open the correct circle-space map and find the large block character. For イ01a, locate イ before searching for 01. On a phone, zoom out to understand the block’s position, then zoom in to read the numbers.
4. Follow the Numbers
Once you are in the correct block, check the number sequence on the map and at the tables. Rows and perimeter spaces may not continue in the direction you first expect.
5. Confirm a or b and the Circle Name
At the correct number, confirm the a or b suffix and then the circle name. If the space does not match the creator’s announcement, recheck the day, hall, block, number, and suffix before assuming anything changed.
Plan Multiple Circles by Hall
Group targets by hall before deciding the order:
| Priority | Hall | Space | Circle |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | East Hall 1 | イ01a | Circle name |
| B | East Hall 1 | サ12b | Circle name |
| A | East Hall 3 | ム24a | Circle name |
| C | West Hall 2 | て05b | Circle name |
- Start with the highest-priority circle.
- Visit other targets in the same hall.
- Continue with targets in the same exhibition area.
- Leave distant halls and optional choices for later.
A short A/B/C list is usually easier to use than a long route that assumes every aisle will be clear. Crowd control can add detours, so current signs and staff instructions take priority.
If You Cannot Find the Space
Move to the side before checking your phone, then verify these details in order:
- Correct day
- Correct exhibition area and hall
- Correct block character
- Correct number
- Correct a or b suffix
- Correct circle name
If you still need help, show the full saved location to an information point or staff member. “Day 1, East Hall 1, イ01a” is more useful than an English creator name alone.
Do Not Mix Circle Spaces with Corporate Booths
C108 circle spaces are in East Halls 1-3, East Hall 7, West Halls 1-2, and South Halls 1-2. The official international C108 page identifies West Halls 3-4 and South Halls 3-4 as the Corporate Area on both days.
Corporate booth numbers use a different system. Keep corporate booths on a separate list and use the official Corporate Area information instead of trying to decode them as circle spaces.
Common Map Mistakes
- Saving the circle name without its day and placement
- Recording 01a without the block
- Recording the block without the hall
- Using a Day 1 list on Day 2
- Mixing up イ, い, A, and a
- Dropping the final a or b
- Using the Information Map to search for a numbered table
- Opening a map from an older Comiket
- Mixing circle spaces with Corporate Area booths
- Planning too many moves between distant halls
Final Checklist
- Correct attendance day confirmed
- Circle name confirmed
- Hall saved
- Block character copied exactly
- Number saved
- a or b suffix saved
- Correct C108 circle-space map ready
- Targets grouped by hall
- A, B, and C priorities assigned
- Corporate booths kept on a separate list
Finding a circle at C108 is manageable when you separate the location into the day, hall, block, number, and a/b. For tickets, transportation, heat precautions, and other essentials, see the Comic Market 108 guide for foreign visitors.
